Stuck, spotted a bug, or got an idea? We'd love to hear from you.
Get in touch
Email us and a real person will get back to you as soon as we can.
Email [email protected]You can also tap Send feedback in the app (Us → Our space → About). It opens your email app with your Tiff version filled in, which helps us fix things faster.
Getting started
How do I pair with my partner?
One of you invites, the other joins:
- Tap Invite on Home. Tiff makes a 6-character invite code for you to send to your partner.
- Your partner downloads Tiff, signs in, and taps I've got a code instead (or "Got a code?") to enter it.
A code works once and lasts 7 days. If yours has run out, just make a new one. After lots of wrong tries in an hour, joining pauses for a little while to stop people guessing codes.
Can I use Tiff before my partner joins?
Yes. You can spin Dinner Roulette, add plans and save memories on your own. When your partner joins, everything you've added is waiting for them in your shared space. Things that need both of you, like votes and court cases, wait until they arrive.
You can be in one shared space at a time.
Privacy between you two
What can my partner see, and what can't they?
Your partner sees what you add to your shared space: plans, options, votes, photos, memories, receipts, little messages and so on, usually within seconds.
Some things stay private until they're revealed:
- Court sides: hidden until you've both filed. Drafts are never shown.
- Swipes: your partner only ever sees the things you both liked.
- Surprises and mystery dates: hidden until the reveal time, and notifications never give them away.
- Spark answers: hidden until you've both answered.
Anything that leaves Tiff with your partner's photos, words or cases in it (a Wrapped slide, collage, verdict card or memory) needs their OK first. You'll find requests under Us → Our space → Sharing outside Tiff.
The Courtroom
How does the AI judge work?
Each of you files your side of a small disagreement privately. When both sides are in, the case text is sent to an AI (Claude, made by Anthropic) which gives a playful verdict: a summary of each side, a ruling, a small compromise and an agreement you could both say out loud. You can agree and save it, or appeal once.
Photos are never sent to the AI. It's only told a photo exists. Read more in our Privacy policy.
Is the verdict real advice?
No. It's for fun. It only knows what you both wrote, it can get things wrong, and it isn't relationship, legal, medical or any other kind of advice. Big life decisions belong to the two of you (the Decisions tab's pros and cons are built for those).
Why did the court refuse to rule on our case?
If a case sounds more serious than a silly tiff, for example if it mentions violence, threats, control, abuse, self-harm or feeling unsafe, the court sits it out and shows support information instead. It doesn't say which words or whose side caused it. If it got it wrong, you can edit your side and try again.
Notifications
How do notifications and quiet hours work?
Tiff tries hard not to be annoying:
- Quiet hours are 9pm to 8am on your space's home time zone. Notifications wait until morning, unless your partner sent something on purpose (a little message, a countdown, a surprise, a spark reply or a mystery reveal).
- Things that don't need you are capped at three a day. Extras wait until the next morning.
- Small partner updates (votes, options, matches) come together in one round-up at 7pm.
- Receipts never buzz. They stay in the app.
- Previews never give away a surprise. Little messages show what they say, like a text.
Choose what you get in Us → Our space → Notifications: Partner activity, Needs you, Memories and Reminders. Change how often sparks arrive under Sparks, or turn everything off in your iPhone's Settings.
Why are times based on a "home time zone"?
Your space runs on one clock, so "today", reveals and reminders mean the same thing for both of you. It's set from the phone that made the space. Either of you can ask to change it in Our space → Home time zone, and the other one needs to OK it. A change never makes a surprise open early.
Your data
How do I download everything?
Go to Us → Our space → Download everything and tap Make my download. You'll get your photos at full size plus a memory book you can open on any computer. It's everything you can see in Tiff, and nothing that's still a surprise.
Bigger spaces take a few minutes, and we'll send a notification when it's ready. Large downloads come in parts: save every part, unzip them into the same folder and open memory-book.html. We keep each download for 7 days.
What happens if one of us leaves the space?
Go to Us → Our space → Leave this space. Here's exactly what happens:
- Your partner is told straight away, and neither of you can add anything new.
- Everything stays read-only for 30 days for both of you, so either of you can download your photos and memories. We'll send a reminder 3 days before it closes.
- After 30 days the space is deleted for good, photos included. You'll each get a fresh, empty space.
Leaving can't be undone, so we suggest downloading first. (Leaving is only for a space you share. If your partner hasn't joined yet, you can delete your account instead.)
How do I delete my account, and what happens?
Go to Us → Our space → Delete my account and confirm.
- Your account and sign-in are deleted straight away, and we ask Apple to revoke Tiff's access to your Apple ID.
- Your votes and favourite moments go straight away, and so do any downloads you've made.
- If your partner has joined: they're told, and keep read-only access to your shared space for 30 days. Then the rest is deleted for good, photos included.
- If you're on your own: your plans, photos and memories are deleted straight away too.
This can't be undone. If you'd like a copy of anything, download it first.
Do you sell my data or show ads?
No. Tiff has no ads, no tracking and no analytics. If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends us a crash report so we can fix it. That report isn't linked to you and never includes your photos, messages or cases. Our Privacy policy lists everything we collect and everyone involved in running Tiff.
Tiff Plus
What's in Tiff Plus?
Tiff is free to use. Plus is the optional upgrade for couples who want more:
- Up to 20 court cases a month (3 on the free plan)
- Unlimited Scrapbook photos (100 on the free plan)
- As many mystery dates and challenges as you like, rather than one at a time
- Photo collages
- Wrapped whenever you want it, not just in December
- A little Plus heart on both your profiles
You can buy it monthly or yearly. The App Store shows the price in your currency before you pay.
Do we both need to pay?
No. One of you subscribes and you both get Plus straight away. Your partner sees "You've got Plus, thanks to …" and never sees a buy button. If you both happen to be subscribed, Tiff will let you know so one of you can cancel.
If you leave your shared space, Plus goes with whoever pays for it.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, so you cancel on your iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Tiff Plus, then Cancel Subscription. You can also get there from Settings → Tiff Plus → Manage subscription in the app.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for. Nothing is deleted when Plus ends: photos and plans over the free limits stay, you just can't add more until you're back under them.
Deleting your Tiff account doesn't cancel an Apple subscription, so cancel first.
Can I get a refund?
Apple takes payments for Tiff and handles every refund, so we can't issue one ourselves. Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com: sign in, find Tiff Plus and choose "Request a refund".
I paid but Plus isn't showing
Open Settings → Tiff Plus and tap Restore purchases, making sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you paid with. If it still doesn't show, email us with the date you paid (no card details, please) and we'll sort it out.
